The Summer Praise Dance group was created during the summer of 2013 to create community within our studio, to reach out to our surrounding community in a new way, and to teach our students how dancing can be used as a form of worship.
This group is open to rising 2nd-12th graders each summer. We meet for five days in June to learn and rehearse a mini-ballet or worship set and spend the remainder of our summer touring and sharing in worship each Sunday morning with congregations in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. We are led by Miss Alaina and the Student Leadership Team. This group serves as a planning committee for the ballet and helps to choreograph and teach. We love dancing together and worshipping the Lord!
With the COVID-19 pandemic, our summer tour plans for 2020 changed, but found a way to share in worship with you that we hope will reach even more congregations than we normally could in-person! We have created a worship set with the theme “From Fear Into Faith”, held our summer camp outdoors, and created videos of our worship dances to share with you! Sample video can be found below. For the entire set and a guide to using these videos in your worship, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
