Class Information

2020-2021 Registration

Registration is completely online this year. All registrations will be confirmed with you via email once your online registration form is submitted.

We will be taking new registrations (provided there is room in the class) until mid-January.

If you are currently enrolled in a class for the fall semester, your registration will roll over to the spring semester. Please let us know if you would like to add, drop, or switch into another class.

Each class meets weekly for 45-90 minutes, based on the style of dance and age of the dancer. Each class include a warmup, conditioning, exercises in technique in the center or across-the-floor, and choreography.

In-Person Classes

Please see the COVID-19 accommodations for the 2020-2021 season in the tab above.

Virtual Classes

Some virtual options will be available for students via Zoom.
Virtual students will not remotely join an in-person class. Any virtual class will be taught by its own teacher during its own time slot.

Payments & Attendance

You are responsible for paying for all classes during the semester, regardless of any absences from class. You may make-up any missed classes due to illness or other extenuating circumstances during any other classes at an equivalent level *if there is space available.

Payments may be made in full per month or per semester. A late fee will be charged at the end of the month for any missed payments.

Students may choose to pay per month or per semester.

All ballet students have the option to perform in our annual Christmas production. This takes place one weekend in December and follows a spiritual praise theme for the Christmas season. There is no costume purchase for this performance, but students are asked to pay a $25 fee in order to cover costume rental, facility rental, and other performance costs. *decisions about the nature of our Christmas production will be dependent on developments in the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spring Recital: is held the weekend after Memorial Day with two performances. Each class will learn a dance throughout the spring semester and every student is expected to participate in both performances.

In the event of inclement weather, InMotion will make the decision whether to hold evening classes. You will be signed up for text notifications upon registration. Any cancellation will also be posted on the website homepage and on social media (Facebook & Instagram).

Dress Code

You are required to wear dance apparel for all dance classes. Leotard, tights, skirts, ballet shoes, and hair in bun is expected for all ballet classes. Leotard, tights, and shorts or skirts should be worn for all other classes with appropriate shoes. Hair should be in a bun or ponytail for all other classes. “If you look like a dancer, you will feel like a dancer and dance like a dancer.”

During colder months, students may wear sweaters to classes. Any sweater or shirt should be form-fitting and should not have a hood.

New to our dress code in 2020-2021: dancers’ leotard may not be nude-colored. Dancers are always welcome to wear these under any leotard (and are highly-recommended to wear under costumes during performances) but this may not be your only attire: you will need to wear a black or colored leotard on top.
